Sonny Flores won the final Refaluwasch Golf Association Ace of the Month Tournament of the year after the net 71 he posted during the qualifiers held sway during last Saturday’s December tilt held at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort east course.

Flores posted the winning score for the December Ace last Nov. 12 at the same golf venue.

Two other golfers actually posted lower scores than Flores, but both were disqualified, as Alex Aquiningoc and Ben Duenas already won in the April and December editions of the monthly competition.

Tony Satur and Ed “Doi” Tenorio also fired net 71s to equal Flores’ qualifying score, but as per RGA rules, participants playing in the Ace of the Month must beat the qualifying score in order to win.

Despite ceding the December Ace to Flores, Aquiningoc and Duenas still went home with the money, as they pocketed $70 and $60, respectively, for shooting the day’s two lowest scores.

A total of 11 players took part in the monthly swing off, and the participants—with their scores in parenthesis—are as follows: Andy Nepaial (73 net); Joey Arriola (73); Jess Wabol (74); Charlie Jo (75); Carlos Salas (76); Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho (77); and Gus Camacho (78).

In the closest to the pin competition, Kamikaze won hole No. 4 and Wabol was without peer in hole No. 15.
