Delay in EMS response
My name is Rose DLG Mondala and I live in Kagman III Phase I, Indian Beech Court. Last night about 8pm I became very ill and I was having problem breathing due to low sugar in my blood (hypoglocemia), which happen to people who are diabetic. I called 911 right away through my cell, crying and asking for help. After 10 minutes my cell died due to shortage of minutes. All the time that I was on the cell, I told the dispatcher where my house is located, but the EMS could not locate it. The Fire/EMS station is located just one and a half miles from my house, yet it took them 30 minutes to find my house. This type of response is very dangerous for people who are calling and facing life and death situations.
PTI and MPLA issued a map and street names of Kagman I,II,III, and IV, so why is it that EMS doesn’t know how to find a street in Kagman? I’ve heard some horror stories from different people in Kagman about how long it takes for EMS to respond to our area, but I never dreamed that it would happen to me.
I want the public in Kagman to know what type of response time they will be facing if they call for help.
