At one minute past midnight on every third Thursday of November each year, over a million cases of Beaujolais Nouveau begin its journey from a sleeping Paris, France, for immediate shipment to the rest of the world.

“The New Beaujolais has arrived!”

Considered one of the most frivolous and animated rituals in the wine world begins, rippling across the world and lapping up on the shores of the Northern Marianas.

The CNMI, through the efforts of Pacific Wines and Spirits of Guam, joined the rest of the world in celebrating the arrival of the very first wine made from the 2006 harvest—the 2006 Beaujolais Noveau wines.

PWS sales officer Orleyne Tabucanon flew to Saipan last week to witness the participation of leading hotels and restaurants in the launching of the new vintage. The hotels and restaurants that participated were Aqua Resort Club, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Pacific Islands Club, and Casa Urashima.

Beaujolais Nouveau is a world-acclaimed fruity French red wine from southern Burgundy.
