Saipan Singing Superstar picks 11 kid finalists

The Saipan Singing Superstar is now down to its final 11 child contestants as they vie for the grand finals on Dec. 22, three days before Christmas Day.
The last leg for the preliminary round was held last Friday at the Saipan Grand Hotel. The 11 finalists are: Arriane Antonio, Jannee Babauta, Melissa Campo, Mikee Campo, Nikki Canape, Cindy Carreon, J.R. Del Rosario, Louiebell Lavetoria, Jayrald Mercene, Jewel Olivos and Erica Tubera.
There will be a Wild Card Night this Friday for the kids. Eventologist Oscar Yema said those who didn’t make the cut for the kids division could still have the chance to be included in the grand finals. Only one of the nine eliminated contestants will be selected this Friday to complete the 12 finalists for the grand finals.
The top three contenders during last Wednesday’s elimination round for the adult category were Lala Nodado, Froid De Leon and Dan Domingo. The last leg for the Adult Category elimination round was held last night.
On Dec. 6, the Wild Card Night for the adults will select three more finalists among those who were eliminated during the preliminary rounds.
The grand finals for the adult category is on Dec. 27. Saipan Grand Hotel, Pacific Telecom, Inc., and Miller and Pepsi are sponsoring the competition.
