Emi Williams found herself atop the mountain again as she won the Pepsi November Queen of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament Monday night at the Saipan Bowling Center.

Williams, who is coming off a respectable performance in the Asian Intercity Bowling Tournament on Guam earlier this month, punched in strong numbers in her four games to post a 48-pin victory margin.

The veteran kegler finished the tournament with a total of 785 pins for an average of 196.25 pins per game, and broke the 200-mark twice to charge to the top.

Williams was off to a sizzling start as she left her mark on 206 pins in her first game to take a four-pin lead over Gina Sablan. She then slowed down a bit and knocked down 191 pins, but got back to her dominant form in her third game and fired up 216 pins before closing with 172 pins to claim victory.

Sablan finished a respectable second as she recorded a total of 737 pins for an average of 184.25 pins per game. She was right behind Williams after bruising 202 pins in her opening game, but like Williams, cooled off in her second game with 183 pins. Sablan, who has won the title in the past, improved in her third game and connected on 197 pins, but slowed down again for a pedestrian 155 pins in her final game.

Just five pins behind Sablan was veteran Ron Cal, who finished with 732 pins for an average of 183 pins per game. After getting off to a slow start, Cal heated up and began closing in on the leaders, coming up just short to place third.

Cal was cold in the first two games and scored 165 and 145 pins, but just when it seemed she was out of contention, she turned the table and began firing up strong numbers to put pressure on Williams and Sablan.

Cal was able to knock down 210 pins in her third game. She remained in her hot zone and hit 212 pins in her final game to close with a bang.

With their performances, Williams was able to take home $60, while Sablan and Cal won $30 and $25.

Other notables include Lala Taitano with 155 pins, Lynn Santos with 655 pins, Sophie Fejeran with 654 pins, Lucy Deleon Guerrero with 646 pins, and Elena Soll with 640 pins.

A total of 19 bowlers competed in the November edition of the Queen of the Lanes, with several of them playing twice—on Sunday and Monday.

The Queen of the Lanes is held every month and culminates with a season-ending tournament to determine the Queen of the Year. The event is sponsored by Pepsi and organized by the Saipan Bowling Association.
