Defending champion Mwaliyas remained unbeaten after stuffing Bwibwiis, 65-31, yesterday in the ongoing World Organized Rocball Community League at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

Mwaliyas recieved little resistance in two of the four sets played and cruised to their third straight victory.

With the win, Mwaliyas sits atop the team standings, with three others right behind with 2-0 win-loss records.

Mwaliyas dominated the first set as the team pounded away en route to a 16-6 victory. The defending champions got a big lift from Denri Fiden and Shane Yamada as the two highlighted their run with consecutive goals.

The Bwibwiis put up a better fight in the second set, but still couldn’t match Mwaliyas’ push. The Mwaliyas players were able to steam ahead for a 16-11 win, and increase their lead in the overall points tally to 15 points, 32-17.

The Bwibwiis then went cold as the team struggled in the third set and was limited to just three points. Mwaliyas, on the other hand, remained on fire and broke out to a commanding, 48-20 lead, courtesy of a 16-3 win.

The Bwibwiis were determined to send the bout into o-kon, but their efforts came up a bit short in the fourth set as Mwaliyas closed strong for a 17-11 clincher.

Yamada finished as the game’s heavy hitter as he led Mwaliyas with 17 points after knocking in three aces, four kees, and a goal. Vanessa Williams also contributed 10 points after connecting for three aces and two xunks.

Benusto Lisua and Jordan Igisomar led the Bwibwiis with six points apiece. Lisua had a xunk and two kees, while Igisomar added two aces and a xunk.

Rocball action resumes on Tuesday with powerhouse Watch & Learn (2-0) takes on the 1-1 Kich Fairo squad at 11:30am.

The third round will then come to a close with a battle of the unbeatens as Da Lani Kynez and Dublan Chiefs face off on Thursday, Dec. 14.

The Chiefs, Da Lani Kynez, and Watch & Learn all have 2-0 records.
