Famed muralist invited to paint CHC wall
In celebration of the International Year of the Reef, several local groups have invited environmental artist Robert Wyland to paint a coral reef mural on one of the local hospital’s external walls.
All persons interested in learning about the upcoming visit of Wyland are invited to an informational meeting at Fiesta Resort’s Chambre bar this Tuesday, April 15, at 6:30pm. Marianas Dive will host the informal gathering at which representatives from MINA, one of the groups sponsoring Wyland’s visit, will be on hand for a presentation and a question-and-answer session.
Wyaland is famous for painting life size murals depicting marine life. According to his website, Wyland’s murals are on display in 12 countries in four continents, and are viewed by an estimated one billion people a year. His work draws enthusiasts from all over the world, and has been recognized by the United Nations, the Sierra Club, and the Underwater Academy of Arts and Sciences.
