Support for marine monument

The Northern Marianas Insurance Association is composed of 11 companies that are duly licensed insurance carriers, brokers, agents and adjusters in the CNMI.

This past April 24, we invited Mr. Angelo Villagomez to present to our Association some information on the proposed “National Park of the Sea” or “Marine Monument” as some people are calling it. We were able to ask Mr. Villagomez questions about the proposal from Pew and he was able to answer our questions to our satisfaction.

While as insurance people our main objective is ensure that the public and its property are protected against unforeseen accidents, as members of the community we feel that it is also our responsibility to ensure that our islands and their resources are protected for future generations to come. It is for that reason that our Association fully support the establishment of the “National Park of the Sea.”
