A local GOP meeting Friday was postponed because of sparse attendance.

Fewer than 10 members showed up at the general membership meeting, where new officers were to be elected.

Ana Teregeyo, first vice president of the NMI Republican Party, said the meeting will be rescheduled for some time this week.

“There was just not enough members. We figured the members might have had other activities and prior commitments. We could have gone ahead with the election, but that would not have been fair to the majority,”said Teregeyo.

She said the purpose of the meeting is to elect new officers and to adopt the minutes from the last two meetings of the party.

The current officers are Tom Pangelinan, president; Ana Teregeyo, first vice president; Roman Tudela, second vice president; Luis John Castro, secretary; and Karl Reyes, treasurer.
