John Cepeda claims April title

John Cepeda earned the April Ace of the Month title when he bested 20 other golfers in last Saturday’s Exclusive Golf Club monthly championship at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
Cepeda shot a 40 and 39 at the front and back nines to finish with a 79 gross. He had a 12-handicap giving him a 67 net to win by one shot against the 12-handicapper Roy Kwon, who had an 80 gross but ended up with a 68.
Kwon ended up tied with Luis Cepeda as both of them finished with a net 68 but the latter had a 20-handicap dropping him to third place. The handicap determines the tiebreakers.
John Cepeda now joins monthly champions Yasu Irinaka (January), Ned Norita (February), and Woo Kwi Dong (March).
John Cepeda may have won the April monthly crown but Woo had the last laugh when he sank a hole-in-one . Woo aced hole No. 6 to earn $300 for his impressive and rare feat.
Woo, who took up golf eight months ago, thanked the Dandan driving range where he regularly practices his drives.
EGC was established in 2006 and has a total membership of 30 golfers. Last Saturday, 20 participated in the April Ace of the Month.
