Surviving the tougher times

Imagine this: Our budget for CUC is double starting this month. And then there is a speculation that the price of gas will reach $5 per gallon by the end of June, not to mention that the current price is already way above the minimum wage. Prices of food and other basic commodities have gone up as well. Almost all government fees have also increased. This is the dilemma that everyone is facing. Since last year, we stopped using the a/c and the water heater in our house, no more going to the restaurants and no more shopping for anything unless it is really necessary. I’m even tempted to buy a bicycle to use going to work just so I can save on gas! But what else can we do to make ends meet? And how bad can it still get?

I hope that when the government is coming up with solutions, they would remember that their people are already down to the ground. There might be other solutions other than passing the burden to the people. I hope we are objective in realizing that we badly need help and I hope the government will be willing to listen to people who are offering solutions. Perhaps we can still do something.
