IConnect, a leading provider of Push-2-Talk radio and cellular services in the CNMI and Guam, announced yesterday that Hans Mickelson has been named general manager of IConnect’s CNMI operations.

With over 10 years’ experience in the wireless arena, Mickelson will be responsible for expanding IConnects sales networks and revenues throughout the Island chain. He will oversee CNMI consumer and enterprise sales and service markets, and undertake full responsibility for internal and external marketing, promotions and support teams.

Mickelson’s vast experience in the CNMI telecommunications market includes serving as general manager at Saipancell Communications where he successfully grew the business into a wireless powerhouse, then moving to Verizon Communications in 2002 to head up their Wireless Division. Verizon sold to PTI in 2004 where Mickelson’s PTI team continued to grow the wireless product line to jump to the top wireless spot in the CNMI. He began his CNMI communications career in 1988 in the radio industry as general manager of the KZMI radio group.

“IConnect Communications will benefit greatly from Mr. Mickelson’s overall experience in this arena and his complete understanding of the CNMI market,” said Matt Giger, IConnect vice president. “He is a seasoned executive in our dynamic industry, with strong managerial and leadership qualities. In the last 10-years, no one has sold more wireless product and services in the CNMI than Mr. Mickelson. We are confident that his skills and experience, together with his enthusiasm, will guide our team to advanced levels of activity.”

Mickelson said: “I am extremely excited to join the rest of IConnects strong management team and to work with a company with such tremendous potential, I look forward to building on and continuing IConnects history of solid execution as it pursues numerous CNMI opportunities for profitable growth.” (iConnect)
