Four teams vie for Bud Cup crown

Four teams are left vying for the season-ending Saipan Billiards Association Budweiser Cup tournament title as the league is set to crown its champion on May 27.
The remaining teams are regular season champion SaipanCell-Krystal Perfect Spot Hustlers. Porky’s Wild Hogs, Godfather’s Magas, and Wild Bill’s Snipers. The four advanced after Tuesday night’s games held in various bars on the island.
The Hustlers and Snipers scored a 4-2 win over Wild Bill’s Wild Wild West and VFW Warriors, while the Wild Hogs escaped with a 4-3 decision against Len’s 5 Bad Boyz while the Magas crushed USSP Wat-ever, 4-0.
The final two teams after the May 20 semifinals will battle for the title on May 27.
The 2008 Winter/Spring SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League awards banquet will be held on June 8 at 11am at Pacific Island Club’s Charley’s Cabaret in San Antonio. The cost is $25 for adults and $12.50 for kids.
League coordinator Charlotte Tenepre is also reminding interested teams that the deadline for submission of lineups for the 2008 Summer/Fall season will be on the banquet.
