Kiley Conner, a fifth grade student from the Eucon International School, received the highest achievement in the CNMI for this year’s World Maths Day Competition.

The competition, which is participated by over a million students around the world, is a program to get students all over the world working together to solve simple math problems.

Students compete in real time against over a million students from over 150 countries.

Results from World Maths Day coordinators indicated that Conner earned the rank of first place in the Northern Marianas Islands and a little over 9,000 in the world.

Eight students from different grade levels at EIC participated in this event.

According to Conner’s teacher Katie Peters, “Kiley is a diligent and high-achieving student. She gave a good effort to take some time to solve some [math] problems.”

She added that Conner’s parents gave great support by allowing and encouraging their daughter to join. “We hope to have more students join in World Maths Day next year.”
