Maxi Braig swept all three races in the 10-and-under division, while Cole Chambers won his first race in the 8-and-under as the 2008 Kids XTEARRA season held its final race yesterday in Marpi.

Braig led all way in the swim, bike, and run portions of the 10-and-under age group, crossing the finish line with a time of 13:40. The win allowed the son of Commonwealth Health Center physician and triathlete Dr. Florian Braig to finish the first season of Kids XTEARRA undefeated.

Finishing second in the 10-and-under was Masaki Cramer with a time of 15:27. While his swim split was a bit slower than his previous best (5:03), he saved his energy for nice improvements in his bike (6:37) and run (3:37) with drops of six and 17 seconds, respectively.

Sporting his new Giant bike, which was the envy of the crowd, Chambers enjoyed his first win of the Kids XTEARRA season.

His time of 9:45 was seconds better than his last race. His big improvement was in the swim, dropping 26 seconds from 3:31 to 3:05. His new bike also proved helpful as he dropped his time to 4:03. He, like Big Brown backed down on the backstretch of the run, but had the race well in hand, closing with a 2:37 in the run.

Finishing second to Chambers was Steven Goodwin with a time of 10:40. Goodwin’s big improvement was on his bike, where he dropped seven seconds. Goodwin went on to register splits of 3:41 in the win, 4:28 in the bike, and 2:31 in the run.
