Heritage, arts exhibit at Joeten Motors
The Annual CNMI Cultural Heritage and Arts Pacifica Exhibit will open on Aug. 29 and will run until Sept. 30 at the Joeten Motors Building in San Jose.
The CNMI Cultural Heritage Exhibit will feature traditional Carolinian and Chamorro crafts as part of the CNMI-Wide Cultural Heritage month celebration in September.
The Arts Pacifica Exhibit will also feature artworks from the Pacific islands such as Micronesia, Polynesia, and Melanesia.
“Together with the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture’s newest partner, Joeten Motors, we aim to continue the efforts of promoting, protecting and preserving our unique cultures through exhibits such as this, as well provide an opportunity for public appreciation of the quality and unique arts and cultures of the Chamorro’s/Carolinian’s as well the inclusion of neighboring cultures,” said the CCAC in a statement issued yesterday.
All interested artists and collectors are encouraged to submit and register their artworks at the Arts Council’s Office on Capital Hill starting Friday, Aug.15, up to Aug. 25, 2008, from 8am to 4pm, no later than these dates.
