JOS Corp. tops Friday Night League
JOS Corporation topped five other teams at the conclusion of the 22nd season of the Philippine Bowling Association Friday Night League at the Capitol Bowling Center.
Based on the final team standings, JOS Corporation closed out the season with 64 wins and 32 losses.
The team is composed of Rey Madrilejos, Atoy Banting, Orly Ebuen, Dannie Robles, Paul Bea, Ruben Avendano, Ferdie Generoso, Joe Digno, and Jorge Soledad.
They won a total prize of $550 plus individual trophies and a team championship trophy.
Winners received their prizes Friday night with PBA treasurer Ross Zapanta hosting the simple awarding ceremonies at the Capitol Bowling Center
It was JOS Corp.’s second championship since winning it first in 2006.
RR Consulting Services placed second, posting 59 wins and 37 losses.
Composed of Roger Vales, Jerrie Vales, Jamie Vales, Romy Guevarra, Pau Ramos, Raymond Angeles, Cris Balolong, Efren Cacdac, Eric Rabang, and Gilbert Morales, RR Consulting pocketed the second prize of $300 and a trophy.
Seabridge/MIFICPA had 58-38 win-loss record that was good for third place.
The team of Melvin Malvar, Rene Cariaso, Tom Bernanrdo, Manuel Castro, Donato Besio, Ronnel Calama, Albert Forted, and Jun Banadera went home with $250.
Finishing fourth and fifth were Ambyth Micronesia and PTI.
Ambyth Micronesia carded 56.5 wins and 39.5 losses and earned $150, while PTI had 55.5-40.5 win-loss record and won $100.
Special awards for top team and individual performers in different categories were also given along with their corresponding money earned. The total money awarded to winners was $2,080.
UIC topped all the team awards. It was first in the category for high game scratch by compiling total pinfalls of 1,083 for a prize of $40. RR Consulting Services was second with 1,068 and won $35.
UIC also finished on top in high game with handicap with 1,190, while RR Consulting was second with 1,182 .
In high series scratch, UIC also led in total pinfalls with 2,952, while Jam It In had 2,852.
UIC was also first in high series with handicap with total of 3,273, while AGAPE was second with 3,157 .
In individual awards, Randy Abreu was first with 279 in the high game scratch , while Dannie Robles was second with 278.
Abreu also led in high game with handicap with 304 pinfalls, while Robles and Chester Bai tied for second with similar scores of 293.
Gina Sablan was first in the ladies division with her 224, as she topped five of the six categories in her division. She was adjudged as the ladies most improved bowler .Troy Verdaguer was the men’s division’s most improved bowler .
Sablan had the highest average with her 165.02, while Raymond Angeles prevailed in the men’s division with his 188.39. Sablan gained her fourth individual award winning the high game with handicap with her average of 260 pinfalls.
In high series scratch, Richard Leong had 726 pinfalls, beating Ronald Epan who scored 717, while Gigi Zapanta topped the ladies division with 608.
Epan was first in high series with handicap by compiling 768 pinfalls, while Leong was second with 762. Sablan was first in the ladies division with her 703.
