The first player to make a hole-in-one in the upcoming fundraising golf tournament organized by the Off the Beaten Path will win fabulous prizes compliments of sponsors.

OBP said the prizes include a vehicle from Joeten Motors, a roundtrip ticket to Southeast Asia or China from Asiana Airlines, and a cash prize of $15,000 from Shell Marianas.

Proceeds of the tournament will benefit the efforts of Laolao Bay Golf Resort to help the CHC Volunteers Association raise funds for needed medical equipment for the hospital.

Francine Sablan, OBP public relations officer, said the CHC volunteers’ group is an integral component of the CNMI’s health care system and has contributed to the ability of the CHC to offer quality medical care.

“Our goal is to assist the CHC Volunteers Association with raising funds to purchase a Spiral CT scan machine and a hyperbaric chamber for the Commonwealth Health Center,” Sablan said.

Aside from the hole-in-one prize, cash and certificate prizes will be offered for first place ($300), second place ($200), and third place ($100) in each division.

There will be six divisions—Championship Flight, A Flight, B Flight, C Flight, Seniors Flight, and Ladies Flight.

The double Peoria system will be applied for the Seniors and Ladies flights.

The Off the Beaten Path golf fundraiser will be held on Oct. 18 at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

OBP will host a banquet immediately after the completion of play at the clubhouse where prizes will be awarded to the winners. There will also be a raffle with tickets sold for $1.

Ticket buyers are eligible to win great door prizes such as an entry to the 2009 Tournament of Champions valued at $200, cellular phones from PTI, room nights at Pacific Islands Club, Aquarius Hotel Beach Tower, and Hyatt Regency Saipan, among others.

Other opportunities to win include closest to the pin, prize pool, and cash.

Registration begins at 6am and shotgun will be at 7am.
