Now we’ve got hope

Like many of you, I’m experiencing hard times. Before I started my business, I had nothing. There were times I’ve been down and out, but managed to bounce back. Now I’m just like so many of you, trying to make ends meet. We all are fed up with the way the CNMI has been managed over the years. We are forgotten by the politicians. I am tired of hearing, ‘never mind, it’s who you know,’ or ‘that’s just the way it is.’ Those days are over. Why are the well-off getting more, while the poor are getting less? I say to you, it doesn’t have to be that way anymore. It’s time for a change.

We need to slow down and take a look at the all U.S. delegate candidates. Let’s read their resumes, their past work performance once in office, and their track record of honesty to the people of the CNMI. Don’t be fooled by politicians’ tricks. Some of them have used their positions in government to do as they please. Some have even changed laws to help themselves and friends. Read the old newspapers, you might have forgotten some past issues. Some candidates say they were there when the Covenant was signed and adopted 35 years ago. Well, the people thank you, you all have done your duties to the Motherland, but times have changed.

Ladies and gentlemen, if we don’t choose the best candidate as our delegate, things will not change. The way some candidates have manage governmental affairs in the past have gotten us nowhere and may prolong our suffering in the future. Why only now is the current Washington Representative saying he can do a better job? The CNMI needed assistance from the federal government a long time ago. I think for him it’s not a little too late but a big too late. John Gonzales knows he can do the job and promise us if he wins the U.S. Delegate position, he will continue to come to your homes and hear your concerns or complaints while in office. I believe him. I believe that Gonzales will work in good faith for the all people of the whole CNMI. I am for a new era, a new vision, a new direction. What about you? Now we’ve got hope with John Gonzales
