Cool breeze of holiday season

There’s the fresh cool breeze rustling through coconut fronds above. I could sense it as it rushes from the windward to leeward side of this tiny isle. I felt a sense of sadness, though, quizzing how would this holiday season be for most of us battered by external phenomenon beyond our control.

Though the face of hopelessness stares down mercilessly before our naked eyes—what with bad tidings on national television about plunges in the stock global market—a certain fear has stilled my senses for I know no better either. I find it unsettling trying to figure out how would the most recent mega-investments would fare in the dreaded global financial meltdown.

But I find peace in the freshness and joyful spirit of the air all around, loaded with a crisp and simple message of hope for this holiday season: It still is a wonderful world, sir! Prepare for the traditional Noche Buena and Año Nuevo. Indeed, we’ve come this far and we still have the resiliency to conquer our hopes and dreams for a brighter tomorrow.

[I]Mesñgon yan metgot i natibu na finañago gi halom mattiron todo batidan chinatsaga. Maila ta fan a`sustene uno yan otro pago na Noche Buena ya ta gagao i Niño Jesus bendision alibiu gi nuebo na sakan. Taya mask e fuetsan tinayuyot. Si Yuus Maase`!
