Da Boyz of Guam snapped Saipan’s stranglehold of the Kings and Queens of the Diamonds Softball Tournament, beating hometown team Belau Meyuns, 10-0, last Saturday at Meyuns Field in Palau.

No Ka Oi of Saipan, which carried the name Shell Marianas
for the 2008 edition of the all-Micronesian championship, won
the three previous stagings of the Kings and Queens of the Diamonds Softball Tournament.

Belau Meyuns dropped to second place in the tournament
after their loss to the Guam team, while Shell Marianas settled
for third place with Belau Oldiais taking fourth place.

Saipan and Guam teams received an all-expense paid trip
to Palau compliments of Budweiser, Continental Airlines,
and Airai View Hotel to compete in the King of the Diamond
tournament.

Another exciting part of the tournament was the Home Run
Derby where each of the teams were allowed to enter two contestants to see who could hit the most home runs with 10 swings.

Balkuu Godfree from Palau took the title of Home Run Derby
Champion and pocketed $200 in cash. At the end of the games,
Budweiser hosted an awards banquet at Airai View Hotel. The next
day, players were treated to an all day Rock Island Tour.
