Twenty-two budding artists from junior and high schools on Saipan will display their creativity and artistry with their depictions of the many sides of life with Coke in today’s awarding ceremonies at the Glimpses of Guam offices in Gualo Rai.

The activity, dubbed “Coke Side of Life” can decorating and poster contests, was launched on Oct. 1. All entries were submitted on Nov. 11.

The awarding ceremony had been set at 4pm today.

Glimpses’ Virgie Avendano said a similar event was held in Guam and this is the first time it is being held on Saipan.

For can decorating, the contestants used a can of any Coke family product and any material that would stick to the can such as hot glue, acrylic, spray paint, beads, glitter, and stickers to express their ideas.

The top three winners will win prizes such as cases of Powerade and Dasani, t-shirts, Foremost orange juices, gift certificates from Subway, Shell gas certificates, etc.

The criteria for judging include creativity (40 points), artistic quality (30), adherence to the theme of the contest (20), and adherence to contest rules (10).

The contest was open to students who are 13 to 18 years old and are currently enrolled in any private or private junior high school or high school on Saipan.

For the poster contest, the artists were provided a color template of the Coke Bottle Burst where they expressed their creativity by using paint, marker, highlighter or any medium they preferred.

The top three winners for the poster contest will also receive corresponding prizes and the criteria for judging will be the same as that of the can-decorating contest.
