Loyola yearend tennis tilt Dec. 8-10
Tennis instructor Peter Loyola will be holding the 2008 Loyola Sports Yearend Tennis Tournament next month at the Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan.
The yearend event which will run from Dec. 8 to 10 will be having competitions in the junior doubles and adults singles.
The junior doubles event is divided into four categories, namely Levels 1, 2 and 3, and open.
The classifications in the juniors doubles will be based on the performances of participants in last month’s Loyola tournament. The open doubles is for players in the 18-and-under age group.
The adults singles will also have four divisions—the men’s and women’s 3.0 and 4.0.
The adults singles will be played in an eight-game pro set and will have a single elimination format.
Competitions in Levels 1, 2, and 3 will be a regular six-game set, while the open division will use the eight-game Pro Set.
The junior doubles will have a double-elimination format.
Expected to join next month’s adults singles are the winners of the inaugural Loyola yearend netfest, namely Lydia Tan, Yuri Hatamata, and Carol Auther.
Tan defeated Karen Ramsey, 8-1, in Class A’s finals last year
Hatamata ruled Class B after an 8-4 decision against Sarah Yap, while Auther pulled off an 8-5 win over Sonal Rajebhosale in the Class C finals.
Entrance fee for the adults singles is $7. Each player in the juniors doubles will only pay $5 registration fee.
