Economist Malcolm McPhee, one of the authors of the recently released assessment of the CNMI economy, will be conducting a presentation of the report to members of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce tomorrow at the Saipan World Resort.

The report, titled Economic Impact of Federal Laws on the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, is the first comprehensive assessment of the CNMI economy since 1999.

“The report has been the subject of much discussion in the community. …This is a unique and important opportunity to hear first-hand from Mr. McPhee about the report and to ask questions about the report,” said Chamber executive director Kyle Calabrese.

The presentation will be at a lunch meeting tomorrow, Dec. 11, 11:30am, at Royal Taga Ballroom of the Saipan World Resort. The cost of the meeting is $15 per person, which covers the cost of the lunch.

McPhee’s visit to the CNMI and this presentation were made possible with the support of First Hawaiian Bank and HANMI. (SCC)
