Betel nut soldiers

Dear Colonel Alexander Sablan: This is to inform you that your betel nut soldiers are up to their old tricks again of carelessly spitting their betel nut juice on the ground, on pavements, on roads, on parking lots, on public building walls, in trash cans, out of moving car windows and moving car doors, etc.

I recall you wrote a plea to your betel nut soldiers that was published in both newspapers begging them to chew responsibly and tightly contain their spit in spittoons, and dispose of the spittoons in trash cans when they’re done. I would greatly appreciate it if you’d gather your soldiers and educate them once again on responsible betel nut chewing. It’s in the best interest of all citizens of Saipan and the CNMI. Keep in mind that there are a large number of locals that do not chew betel nut.

All in the interest of a sanitary, hospitable Saipan/CNMI. Thank you Colonel Sablan.
