The Refaluwasch Golf Association last Sunday handed over a check worth $3,500 to Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School as part of the club’s commitment to extend financial help to the community.

The donation was raised during last month’s RGA Memorial Cup, which drew more than 60 company and individual supporters.

Receiving the donation Sunday at the Kili Café of Hyatt Regency Saipan were GTC acting principal Charlotte Camacho and GTC-PTA treasurer Marlene C. Cruz.

“We are very grateful to RGA and its members and supporters for their generous donation. This will go a long way as far as ensuring that the needs of the students are met the soonest and best possible way,” Camacho said.

Cruz said the donation may be used to purchase instructional materials, fix chairs or air-conditioned units, and to fund projects that will benefit students.

RGA tournament director Jess Wabol, on behalf of the club president Adam Hardwicke and vice president Ed Tenorio, thanked all private companies, individuals, and government officials for supporting the Memorial Cup and all RGA sanctioned events this year.

“Without them, it will be hard to hold tournaments as frequent as we did this year due to the present economic situation here,” Wabol said.

“We are hoping that they will continue to support us next year and help us reach out to the community through the Memorial Cup,” he added.

Wabol said next year, they will hold a draw again to determine the beneficiary of the Memorial Cup. Past beneficiaries were the man’amko, Garapan Elementary School, and individuals wishing to have something for Christmas.
