[B]Free workshop on detecting fake money[/B]

The United States Secret Service will be conducting a workshop on detecting counterfeit cash and other monetary instruments this Wednesday, Feb. 11.

The workshop, which will be held at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce conference room, will be from 9am to 11am or 1om to 3pm.

This free workshop was initially open DPS and Chamber members but there are still some limited slots available to members of the public. Those who would like to attend may call the Chamber office (233-7150) as soon as possible to reserve a seat.[B][I] (SCC)[/I][/B] [B]Live-fire training on Farallon[/B]

The Emergency Management Office and U.S. Naval Force Marianas Guam announced Friday that the U.S. military would be conducting live-fire training (36 OSS and Cope North) on the island of Farallon de Mendenilla on Feb. 9-13, 2009, from 7am to 6pm.

The general location of this activity will be on the island of Farallon de Mendenilla Training Area on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants.

Due to the danger imposed by this activity, EMO is strongly advising the public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators—to stay away from this area during the time and date indicated.

The Association of Commonwealth Teachers will hold a general membership meeting today, Feb. 9, 2009, at 6pm, at the San Vicente Elementary School cafeteria. Agenda includes the election of new officers and promotional offer for double stamps available to teachers through Shell Marianas.

[B]New license plates are here[/B]

The Department of Public Safety Bureau of Motor Vehicle is informing all private citizens and businesses with temporary vehicle license plates to come into BMV to obtain their official license plates. Shipments of the official plates have already arrived. Individuals must turn in their temporary license plates along with their vehicle registration prior to obtaining their official license plates.
