Former Superior court president judge Edward Manibusan’s file photo was by chance published with the story about the kick off of the Friends for Juan “Pan” T. Guerrero and Joseph N. Camacho Fundraising Golf Tournament in the Saturday issue of Saipan Tribune.

This time, his picture was purposely used for the story about the results of the fundraiser, as Manibusan bested 110 other participants in the weekend tournament held at the Kingfisher Golf Links.

The 3.6-handicapper shot a 1-over par 37 on the front nine and even par 36 on the back for a gross 1-over par 73 and a net 69.4 to rule the double-peoria division of the Friends for Juan “Pan” T. Guerrero and Joseph N. Camacho Fundraising Golf Tournament.

In second place was South Korean pro Bae Yong Man, who shot a net and gross 70. Bae 2-over par was the game’s best lowest gross score of the day, earning him first place in the Championship flight. The Korean golfer, who topped the San Jose Church Fundraising Golf Tournament on March 14 at the Talafofo course, tamed the same facility with his 2-under par 34 on the front and an even par 36 on the back.

Completing the Top 3 in the lowest net score was Kim Kwang Young, who fired a net 70.4 after drilling 40s on the front and back nines.

Organizers of the Juan Pan-Joseph Camacho fundraiser gave cash prizes to the Top 3 finishers and other prizes to 12 others.

Rounding off the Top 15 with their corresponding net scores were Byun Chul Jun (70.6), Yasu Irinaka (71.2), Frank Castro (71.2), Tim Taguchi (71.4), John Cepeda 971.4), Kim Gil Ah (71.4), Joe Tudela (71.8), Alex Aquininoc (72), Manny Tenorio (72.4), Mike Cruz (72.40), Brian Reyes (72.6), and Ha Young Soo (72.8).

Organizers also awarded cash prizes to the top placer in six flights.

Joining Bae in the lowest gross winners’ list were Leina Kim (Ladies), Greg Gamboa (D Flight), Dwayne Stephens (C Flight), Manny Tenorio (B Flight), and Ned Norita (A Flight).

Leina defeated 10 other participants in the Ladies division with her 1-over par 73. She scored a 1-over par 37 on the front and improved her performance on the back with an even par 36.

Gamboa had a 50 and 46 on the front and back nines, respectively, for a gross 96 in the D Flight, while Stephens had a 2-over par 74 after firing a 36 on the front and 38 on the back to win the C Flight.

Manny Tenorio duplicated the best gross score of the day to top the B Flight. Tenorio was off to a slow start with his 1-over par 37 in the first nine holes, but redeemed himself in the last nine holes with a 3-under par 33.

Norita, who placed third to Bae and Wabol in the San Jose fundraiser after tallying a 3-over par 75, came back at the Talafofo course and played better with a 1-over par 73 to rule the A Flight.
