P&S and Joeten Motors Jets ousted their respective rivals last Thursday in the ongoing playoffs of the 2009 Budweiser Inter-Government/Business Slow-pitch Softball League at the Capital Hill Ballfield.

Both Jack Reyes and Mark Flores went 4-for-4 and had three runs each, as P&S eliminated CPA, 15-13, in the loser’s bracket game.

CPA was on its way to taking the game by leading 13-6 until the bottom of the sixth inning when P&S rallied with nine runs on six hits and two walks for the win.

Also last Thursday night, No Zone sent Freedom Air to the loser’s bracket with a 19-17 count in the winner’s bracket game.

With the win, No Zone earned the right to meet the Beach Boys on Monday.

The Beach Boys won over P&S last Tuesday night.

In the other match-up in the winner’s bracket last Tuesday, defending champion Department of Community and Cultural Affairs was set to face Docomo after both teams won over their respective opponents Tuesday.

DCCA advanced by sending the Jets to the loser’s bracket, while Docomo beat POI Aviation.

The Jets bounced back by eliminating Legislature from the playoffs.

Earlier on Monday, the Jets opened their playoff campaign with a lopsided 20-6 victory over CPA before succumbing to the juggernaut of DCCA, which stretched its winning run to 20 after sweeping the pennant.

No Zone also started its title bid with a similar 15-5 easy win at the expense of Legislature before falling short against Freedom Air.
