Ezra Kaainoa Deleon Guerrero, the suspect in the murder of 65-year-old Korean businessman Jae Soung Shim, was arrested in July 2007 for alleged burglary and criminal mischief.

A check with the Superior Court yesterday showed, however, that the 25-year-old suspect was not charged in connection with that burglary and criminal mischief case.

Court records indicate that Deleon Guerrero has no criminal case. He, however, has a civil case.

In March 2003, Pedro J. Igitol and CGU Insurance sued Deleon Guerrero over a vehicular accident along As Matuis Road in March 2001.

Igitol was driving his Toyota Land Cruiser when a Toyota Corolla driven by the defendant swerved and struck Igitol’s car. Igitol’s vehicle sustained damage in the amount of $13,900.

In June 2005, Deleon Guerrero signed an agreement with Igitol and CGU Insurance. He admitted negligence and agreed to pay $12,550. The court granted the stipulation.

In 2002, Deleon Guerrero suffered lacerations on the face when his cousin reportedly hit him with a large rock during a heated argument between family members.

Police arrested Deleon Guerrero on Tuesday for the murder of Shim during a robbery inside a store in Tanapag Sunday night. Autopsy showed that the victim sustained multiple skull fractures, the result of repeated blows to the head.
