The Pacific Islands Club recently donated 12 soft toys and a “warm window” to the children’s hospital in the Russian city of Vladivostok.

PIC Saipan and the Rotary Club of Saipan are the only foreign company and organization respectively that participated in this charity activity.

This effort was spearheaded by one of the city’s biggest weekly newspaper, Konkurent, which sent this week pictures of the donated windows and toys from PIC and Rotary through Elly Stoilova, Russian/CIS market manager for PIC.

The Rotary Club of Saipan earlier donated two “warm windows” while its sister club, Rotary Club Vlad Eco (Vladivostok), also donated two, bringing the total to four that had already been installed at the Children’s Hospital No. 3 in one of the coldest areas in Russia.

The hospital has 105 orphan kids age 3 weeks to 4 years old.

Stoilova said the 10 new windows were installed this week and total of 30 windows have been purchased for the hospital by local companies.

There are only six more windows to be secured.
