Rota Natural Mineral Water boasts unique, refreshing taste
Long before bottled mineral water became a staple in modern life, the distinctive taste of Rota’s water has already been catching the attention of many people.
The secret lies in the water’s pristine source—fresh water from the Sabana mountain percolating through caves and wells—giving birth to one of the best tasting waters in the region.
“As rainfall percolates, it brings with it the minerals and then accumulates below to become a very fresh body of underground water. These dissolved minerals contribute to the distinct and refreshing taste of Rota water,” said Sung Moon Cho.
It is that special taste that prompted Cho to make an initial investment of $2.3 million in August 2010 to build a bottling plant on Rota that will create high quality drinking water for everyone to enjoy, the Rota Natural Mineral Water.
The refreshing Rota Natural Mineral Water is manufactured and bottled by RGMW, LLC and is exclusively distributed to Guam and Saipan—for now, says Cho, the company president.
Essential mineralsRota Natural Mineral Water, Cho said, contains parts of calcium, magnesium, kalium, selenium, vanadium, and germanium, which is essential for the optimum nutrition of the human body.
“Germanium raises the level of activity of various organs, enabling them to attract more oxygen. It is responsible for providing more oxygen to the body as well as expelling harmful pollutants and pathogens or rendering them harmless,” he said.
Since Rota Natural Mineral Water has been introduced in the market, Cho said they have been supplying numerous business establishments on Saipan and Guam.
Among these companies on Saipan are Fiesta Resort & Spa, Saipan Grand Hotel, Century Hotel, Saipan World Resort, Aqua Resort Club, LSG Sky Chefs which caters to Asiana Airlines, Hyatt Regency Saipan, and the Managaha concession. In Guam, they’ve already covered Onwards Beach Resort, Onwards Mangilao and Talafofo Golf Clubs, and Holiday Resort Guam.
Rota Natural Mineral Water is also available in most retail stores on Saipan, including XO Market, Green Consume, and KL Market.
According to Cho, they have water bottle shipments from Rota to Saipan every two weeks to ensure customers receive their supply of Rota Natural Mineral Water.
“We aim to provide Guam and CNMI residents the taste of our treasured Rota water. By next year, we plan to expand our market and supply neighboring countries such as Japan and Korea with Rota Natural Mineral Water,” said Cho.
After Asia, Cho is optimistic that the remarkable taste of Rota Natural Mineral Water will be known to the rest of the world.
Quality guaranteedWith the company part of the Water Quality Association in the U.S., Cho assures customers that Rota Natural Mineral Water conforms to only the highest of water standards.
“The quality of Rota Natural Mineral Water is ensured through testing as it comes from the plant. Throughout the bottling process, the quality is ensured through constant testing and monitoring,” he said.
Cho added that the water is screened annually for 100 possible contaminants through their EPA-approved laboratory.
“To ensure that our consumers get the freshest product possible, we also mark our bottles with date, time, and plant code,” he said.
In fact, Saipan office manager Shirley Monje disclosed that they just received last week their registration number from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
“This validates that Rota Natural Mineral Water has gone through U.S.-approved testing and analysis and has met high-level standards,” she told Saipan Tribune.
Cho said they accept personalized water bottles and supply business establishments such as hotels. For information, call 322-0350 or email rgmw2010@gmail.com.
