DUI/SOBRIETY CHECKPOINTS

The Tinian Department of Public Safety would like to inform the general public that the Traffic Section will be conducting DUI/Sobriety Checkpoints on the dates and time listed below:

– Monday, Dec. 23, from 6pm to 7:15pm, southbound lane on Broadway Road by Housing Turnkey.

– Monday, Dec. 23, from 9pm to 10:15pm, southbound lane on Broadway Road by the Youth Center in San Jose Village.

– Tuesday, Dec. 24, from 10pm to 11:15pm, eastbound lane by Route 202 by Hung Shung Supermarket.

– Wednesday, Dec. 25, from 12am to 1:15am, southbound lane on Broadway by the Youth Center.

– Monday, Dec. 30, from 8pm to 9:15pm, along Broadway Road by Natibu Park.

– Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 10pm to 11:15pm, eastbound lane by the Baseball Field.

– 9pm-10:15pm—San Francisco Highway, Guata area.

– 12:00am-1:15am—San Francisco Highway, Tatachog area.

[B]THURSDAY, DEC. 26, 2013[/B]

– 6:30pm-7:45pm, San Francisco Highway, Teteto area.

– 9pm-10:15pm, San Francisco Highway, Sinapalo 2 area.

– 12:00am-1:15am, San Francisco Highway, Lotgan area

[B]SATURDAY, DEC. 28, 2013[/B]

– 6:30pm-7:45pm, San Francisco Highway, Tatachog area.

– 9pm-10:15pm, San Francisco Highway, Guata area.

– 12:00am-1:15am, San Francisco Highway, Sinapalo 3 area.

[B]TUESDAY, DEC. 31, 2013[/B]

– 6:30pm-7:45pm, San Francisco Highway, Sinapalo 3 area.

– 9pm-10:15pm, San Francisco Highway, Chaliat area.

– 12:00am-1:15am, San Francisco Highway, Tatachog area.

– 2:30am-3:45am, San Francisco Highway, Lotgan area.

Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes). Checkpoints are subject to be terminated if it begins to rain. This activity is part of the department’s effort to deter, detect and apprehend impaired driver and to ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.

In addition, traffic officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions and laser (speed detection) enforcement. [B][I](DPS)[/I][/B]
