CUC opens Garapan
Customer Service Center

When customers from Saipan’s northern villages of Marpi, San Roque, and Tanapag asked the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation (CUC) for help, the Board of Directors listened. Customers who lived as far away as Marpi and those in Sadog Tasi and Capitol Hill recently requested that the community utility open a customer service center either in near them.

It’s happened.

The utility’s newest Customer Service Center opened Monday, July 26th. The utility office is located in the heart of Garapan, in an area with plenty of parking but little traffic.

“We want our customers to feel good about making their utility payments, and don’t want them to get in a car accident or fight traffic. We chose a small and inexpensive space where customers can easily park. Our goal was to get the customers in and out as quickly as possible,” explained Executive Director Timothy P. Villagomez.
“This location is also preferred for disabled or elderly customers. Although all of our Customer Service Centers cater to the disabled, the Garapan location offers the best and safest parking,” Villagomez noted.

The Garapan Customer Service Center is located in a quiet street between Beach Road and Middle Road, across from the Casa de Felipe Hotel. Driving from Middle Road, it can be found two blocks behind J&G Sablan Water Company. Driving North bound on Beach Road, customers will make a right turn directly across from Sala Crystal or the NBA store, about one block before the Bank of Guam.

The move became necessary after the utility vacated its Lower Base offices that will soon be torn down for a new 80-megawatt power plant.

CUC offers three payment centers: Dandan, San Jose and Garapan. Both the San Jose and Garapan centers will stay open late each Friday night until 6:00 PM.
