The Eucon International School of Saipan is holding an open house on Aug. 20 to showcase what the two-year-old institution has to offer.

“We invite all parents to come and see for themselves the modern facilities that we have, including our new computer laboratory which we have opened for our new computer class,” said the school’s supervisor Judy Wei.

Wei said the school will have eight new teachers who are arriving from South Carolina and Louisiana this week.

“All our teachers are Americans with bachelor and masters degrees,” Wei said.

Eucon was established last year and started with 110 students from kindergarten to eight grade.

Eucon will also build a high school next year to accommodate its junior graduates.

“Enrollment is ongoing and we still have space for more students,” Wei said. “This is going to be wonderful second year.”

Eucon opens on Aug. 23.

Aside from academic classes, Wei said the school offers extracurricular activities such as sports, including basketball, volleyball, and baseball as well as arts, music, and cross-stitching.

Wei said the school’s academic programs are founded on the philosophy of “building Christian character.” Its also teaches social grace and courtesies.
