Strange, but true

Here’s an industry you probably never considered before: Tweety Bird.

Yes, Tweety Bird. That simpering soprano cartoon character of yesteryear, that perpetual nemesis of the hapless Sylvester the cat.

It seems that Tweety has developed a cult following. This fact popped up on the radar screen when Jackie, a charming purveyor of cold Corona brewskis at Len’s tavern, expounded on her stash of coveted Tweety Bird memorabilia.

Who would of thought that shrill little Tweety would have launched such an industry? Indeed, still waters run deep…and canary yellow waters run deeper still, though I would advise not to step in yellow waters and especially advise against eating yellow snow.

We don’t have yellow snow out here, but we do have–courtesy of Jackie’s ever growing collection–the following Tweety bird theme items:

1. Hand fan

2. Pen

3. Slippers

4. Stickers

5. Carry-on sized luggage bag

6. Wrist watch

7. Clock

8. Lapel pin

9. Tee shirt

10. Underpants

11. Tank top

12. Hat

13. Tea cup

14. Saucer

15. Hair pins

16. Coffee mug

17. Wine glass

18. Throw pillow

19. Car sun visor

20. Toothbrush

21. Key chain

21. Serving bowl

22. Stuffed toys

23. Cake baking pan

24. Refrigerator magnet

25. Lunch box

26. Soap-bubble blower

27. Flash light

28. Wallet

29. Note pad

30. Towels

31. Ear rings

32. Christmas tree ornaments

33. Car antenna decoration

That’s quite a list, and it’s still growing.

Which just goes to prove that there are all sorts of products and industries out there that we never really notice until someone tells us about them. The free market sure has a lot of layers to it, and if there’s a demand for Tweety bird, well, the demand will be met.

Strange, but true.
