More entertainers at GSM
Organizers of the Garapan Street Market have added new activities and lined up the best local performers for tomorrow’s staging of the weekly event awaited by both residents and tourists on the island.
Northern Stars, featuring AB, Vince, Ray Kaipat and Gus Litulumar, will provide entertainment for the March 2 event, along with Pennina Ole Vasa Dancers who will perform dances from Samoa, Hawaii and Tahiti. The group is composed of students from different schools, and whose age ranges 8 to 17.
Others performers include Boyz to Mix Dancers, led by its choreographer Greg Camacho, Maggie Naputi with Larson. The entertainment will be hosted by Joshua Blalock.
Among the new features of the street fair are the Memong’s power wheels which are motorized vehicles for the small kids to drive themselves around the track.
Saipanda, the popular Marianas Visitors Authority mascot, will make a special guest appearance to pose for photos with kids from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to a news release provided by one of the organizers, Jack Hardy.
The street market, which began last December, happens every Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Third Street in Garapan. It offers free entertainment for the whole family, and promotes drug and alcohol-free environment.
