February 2000
Partnership Program continues to forge partnerships with Government, community and business organizations to educate the general public about Census 2000.
Conduct training for office and field staff.
March 2000
March 22nd Census advance letter was sent to Federal post office boxes to notify residents that the questionnaire will be sent out soon.
March 27th Census questionnaires are put into select federal post office boxes on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Box holders fill out the form and wait for the enumerator to come to their home. The enumerator will verify the questionnaire’s completeness and map their residence.

April 2000
Census Day is April 1
Census Takers begin door-to-door enumeration in Saipan, Tinian and Rota. They will collect questionnaires or provide questionnaires to those who did not receive one in their postal box.
May 2000
Census Takers continue door-to-door enumeration in Saipan, Tinian and Rota
Be Counted. Individuals given a chance to pick up questionnaires at select locations.
Questionnaire compilation continues in a secure section of the Saipan Census office.
June 2000
Questionnaire compilation continues in secure section of the Saipan Census office.
Census Takers continue door-to-door enumeration in Saipan, Tinian and Rota
July 2000
Questionnaire compilation continues in a secure section of Saipan Census office.
August 2000
Saipan Census office begins final data compilation.
Final data is sent to U.S. Census Bureau in Washington D.C.
Final full-time and temporary Census 2000 employees in Saipan, Tinian and Rota are relieved from duties
Saipan Local Census Office closes.
Census 2000 for Saipan, Tinian and Rota is completed.
January 2001
The preliminary Census report should be out.
