Ol’Aces, Glazers battle for Junior League title

The League Pennant Champion Ol’Aces will take on arch rival Glazers on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. for the Junior League Division Championship title.

Both teams paved their way after winning in the post season playoff games last Sunday.

In the first game of the day, Joel Crisostomo pitched 6 strong innings, gave up 7 hits, struck out 6 and allowed 5 runs. Jessie Agulto, Pat Blas and John Tudela all contributed with 2 runs a piece as the Glazers advance to the championship round as they beat the D’9ers 10-6 in a thrilling and exciting game. Mike Aguon had 2 hits including 2 runs in the losing effort.

In the second game of the night, the Comets were ahead 3-1, but along came the mighty strategy of the Ol’Aces as they scored 6 runs in the 5th inning to take a commanding 7-3 lead before winning the game 7-5 and sending them to the championship game. Tyron Fitial went the distance of 7 innings, struck out 6, issued 1 walk, and gave up 7 hits. He also chipped in with 2 hits for the Ol’Aces victory. Clint Sablan had 2 hits for the Comets in the losing effort.
