District Little League kicks off Friday
Saipan, Rota and Tinian Little League All-Stars ages 11-12 will compete in the 4th Annual District Little League Tournament.

This year, Saipan has a total of 14 Little League teams ages 9-12, Rota with six teams and Tinian with three. Teams from Tinian and Rota are scheduled to arrive on Thursday at 3 :00 p.m. for briefing at the Ada Gym conference room.
Opening ceremony is at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the San Vicente Ball Field and immediately after the ceremony, defending champion Saipan will take on team Tinian.
For the last three years, the games were scheduled at a game each day but this year it will be different since there’ll be two games each day. The two teams with the best win-loss record automatically advances to the championship game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
The winner in this local level will advance to the 2000 Far-East Regional Little League Tournament in Guam on July 25 to Aug. 1st.
