Phenoms 87, GTE Pacifica 46
Defending champion Phenoms kept pace with the Ol’Aces after posting an 87-46 victory over GTE Pacifica. Charleston Aiken led the onslaught with 20 points, 5 rebounds, while Jacob Pelisiman contributed 19 points. MIBT standout from Tinian, Jesse Manibusan had a double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the absence of their leading scorer, Freddy Pelisiman.
For GTE, Pedro Lizama led the way with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals, while Normanson Mobel chipped in 8 points, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds.
Get Covered Surf 64, CK Raptors 44
In the second game of the night, the Get covered Surf evened their record at 2-2 with a victory over the C.K. Raptors. Nathan Sablan turned in an all-around performance with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals, while Ron Hansen had 11 points, 7 steals, and 2 assists to hand the Raptors their third loss of the season.
For the Raptors, Anthony Pangelinan had 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Four three-point shots from Larry A. early in the second half brought C.K. to within 9 points, 48-39, but consecutive fastbreaks by Ryan V. upped the lead to double-digits.
Ol’Aces 100, Surf Turf 54
Ol’Aces improved to 4-0 and reached the century mark for the fourth consecutive game. Six Ol’Aces players scored in double figures to lead a balanced attack against the young guns of Surf Turf.
Surf Turf kept the game interesting in the first 6 minutes as the usually stifling Ol’Aces defense couldn’t get going. Surf Turf kept the Ol’Aces at bay in the first half with 44 total points, but could only manage 22 points themselves. The Ol’Aces outscored Surf Turf 56-32 in the second half enroute to the victory.
PCB Warriors 76, Sixers II 51
Under 22 League MVP Ed Arriola and Jeremiah Dl Guerrero led the Warriors to their third victory in 4 games and handed the Sixers II their third consecutive loss after opening the league with a victory.
Arriola pumped in 22 points while Dl Guerrero chipped in 12 points.
For the Sixers Gus Palacios led the way with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Kolani Castro contributed 15 points, while Junior Kashi collected 8 steals.
C.K. Raptors 60, Saints 56
The Raptors blew a 20-point lead but held on to hand the Saints their third consecutive loss while picking up their first victory.
Anthony Pangelinan turned in a superb all-around game to lead the Raptors.
Pangelinan had 14 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots, while Tuwi Ngiraidong helped out with 8 points, 9 boards and 2 blocked shots.
For the Saints, Byron Piteg scored 14 points and had 5 steals to lead the Saints.
