Defending champion Saipan Stevedore Pirates are back to defend their title when the 2nd Annual Youth Summer Baseball League kicks off on Aug. 28.

Expected to join the Pirates are the Kautz Glass Glazers, Northern Yankees and Tanapag Falcons, who are still solidifying their rosters. Missing from this year’s league is runner-up Team Pepsi which failed to field a team this season.

Koblerville Hustlers , making their debut this season, will fill up the slot.

The Saipan Major League Baseball is reminding teams that deadline for submission of the $1,200 entry fee, along with the team rosters, Players’ ID and insurance fee, is on Aug. 21.

The association has scheduled a meeting for today at 5:30 p.m. at the Ada Gym conference room to discuss plans for the opening.
