The CHC Volunteers Association is pleased to announce that on Aug. 24 it donated much-needed items to the Commonwealth Health Center. Such items included pillowcases, bed sheets, and thermal blankets. The volunteers were pleased to present these items for use by the patients of the hospital at the request of the hospital administration.

The volunteers worked hard to facilitate donation by calling on its dedicated community members for assistance. Long time supporter, the Hyatt Regency Saipan, came to the rescue after one phone call and a letter of solicitation. The volunteers extend their sincere gratitude to Mustafa Issa, Hyatt general manager, and Rosalyn Castro, supervisor of housekeeping.

The volunteers received 500 bed sheets of various sizes, 1,129 pillowcases, and 45 pillow protectors with a total value of $8,900 from Hyatt. The volunteers also received a good discount from Townhouse Department Store for the purchase of 20 thermal blankets which will be used by patients at the Hemodialysis Unit.

The volunteers would like to thank Marian Sablan of Pacific Gardenia Hotel for her support and assistance in making the donations possible. Without the dedication, support and untiring assistance of the people in the community, the volunteers would not have been able to provide much of the donations it has made thus far.

The Gift Shop is one of the most stable resources the volunteers rely on for funding collection.

Those interested to join the CHC Volunteers Association may call the Gift Shop at 234-8950 extension 2908.
