Game Results: Thursday, October 5, 2000
1st game: GTE Pacifica 95 MBI/Doritos 63
GTE Pacifica clinch MBL 2000 penant by defeating MBI/Doritos in the first game of action at the NMC basketball court on Thursday, October 5, 2000 with a 95-63 victory. With the win GTE Pacifica completed their game schedule for the MBL 2000 season with a 7-wins and 0-Loss.
Dado Vistal led all scorer with 22-points, 5-rebounds, & 4-steals. Jack Palacios added 14-points,1-block shot &3-rebounds.
Doritos, relying on their leading scorer Romy Grimpula, only managed to score 14-points, 1-block shot, 5-rebounds, & 1- steal, while Orly Catayong contributed 8-points, 4-assists, 4-rebounds & a steal in a lossing cause.
Doritos finished the regular season with 3-wins and 4-losses.
2nd game: Team Y 74 WD-40 53
Second game of the night was a good game. The only win less team in the MBL finally won their first game of the season with a 74-53 upset of Team WD-40.
Team Y came ready for the game as Roy Alexander who was the team’s hit man, served the winning points with 21-points, 9-assists, 13-rebounds & 3-steals, while team captain Greg Koebel playing his last game of the season had 15-points, 5-assists, 1-block shot, 12-rebounds & 2-steals.
Team improved their record with 1-win and 5-losse
WD-40 had 13-points & 2-steals coming from Warren Villegas, while Leo Intervalo contributed 12-points, 1-assist, 8-rebounds & 2-steals in one of the major upset of the season in the MBL 2000. WD-40 1-win snd 4-losses.
