1st Game: GTE Pacifica 74, Team Y 52
GTE Pacifica defeated Team Y 74-52 in the first playoffs game Thursday, October 19, 2000 at the NMC Gym. Richard “Doc” Brostrom had 13 points, 3 assists, 2 blocked shots, 7 rebounds and 1 steal while Ed Cosino helped out Brostrom with 12 points, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot and 4 rebounds.
Team Y was led by Roy Alexander with 20 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds. Collin Thompson contributed 16 points, 2 assists, 2 blocked shots, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
2nd Game: Badtz Maru 85, Old Aces 55
Badtz Maru handed Old Aces their first defeat in the playoffs with a final score of 85-55 in the second game of action at the NMC Gym. Joe Tudela poured in 19 points, 3 assists, 15 rebounds and 1 steal. Oscar Masga had 19 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to help out Tudela.
Old Aces had 24 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound and a steal coming from Tony Luzama, while John Cruz helped out Luzama with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal.
