Japan peace group to hold another summit in 2001
The Summit for the 35th National Nanyokai Okinawa Peace Convention turned out with much success. More then 400 people came together from all over the world for the purpose of delivering peace through out the world.
Representing the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands was Saipan Mayor Jose C. Sablan; Jesus T. Guerrero, share holder and vice president of Pacific Development Inc., Yoichi Matsumura, general manager PDI, Nick Muna, Ngirasmau Shiniro, Tony Guerrero of Northern Marianas College and Jun Iiyama of PDI.
Choken Ginoza, the overall chair for the peace summit, and also the overall chair for the Micronesian Repatriation Association of the CNMI, was very honored to have met the representatives of each countries.
Mr. Ginoza extended his appreciation to Mayor Sablan, whom he called ambassador of peace.
At the same time, Mr. Ginoza is inviting the CNMI community to participate in the 36th National Nanyokai Peace Convention to be held in Saitama prefecture in Oct. 2001.
He also would like to advise his colleagues from Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, that the Micronesian Repatriation Association of Okinawa will be arriving in mid-June 2001 to celebrate their 32nd Annual Pilgrimage to the CNMI.
