Prisoners charged with escape
Prison inmates Jesse James Camacho, 23, and Kurt M. Taisacan, 19, were formally charged Friday with one count of escape after bolting out of prison last April 21, 2000 with another convict Luis Deleon Guerrero Camacho.
The Attorney General’s Office filed the case last week against the two convicts for unlawfully and willfully departing from the custody of the Department of Public Safety while prisoners under the Division of Corrections.
Convicted murderer Jesse James, who was sentenced to a three-year jail term by Superior Court Judge Juan T. Lizama, all suspended except one year, earlier pled guilty to the escape charge and will serve the one year imprisonment after he serves 40 years in jail for his part in the killing of 13-year-old Antonio Sablan Jr.
Mr. Sablan was stabbed 37 times in his house in Dandan as part of the initiation rites for membership into the so-called Red Rum gang.
Meanwhile, Mr. Taisacan was convicted of burglary and receiving stolen property.
Accused thief summoned to court
Employee Eric Taitano Camacho has been summoned to court for unlawfully acquiring state-owned property with the intention of depriving its owner of rights to the possession.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Camacho created false impressions to obtain the property with a value of less than $250.
Mr. Taitano, 20, will be tried in court for charges of theft by deception.
