A nonresident worker is suing his employer in the U.S. District Court for alleged nonpayment of wages, including overtime, and breach of his employment contract.

Benedicto B. Lami-Ing, a Filipino worker on Saipan, brought charges in the District Court against You Rim Corporation and its owner Ki Sup Kim, a citizen of South Korea.

He claimed in his complaint that he was not paid his wages and overtime compensation while working as gameroom attendant for the company from November 29, 1999 under a temporary work permit issued by the Department of Labor and Immigration.

These action violated the federal labor standards act, the minimum wage and hour act as well as the CNMI nonresident workers act, entitling him to recover unpaid wages, overtime pay, liquidated damages and other relief.
