Non-resident Workers and the Future

We all agree that life here would be much more difficult without our non-resident workers. Who wants to work in the hotels as room maids, wash dishes in restaurants, collect garbage, clean house, work at back- breaking construction jobs, and do all the hundreds of other menial but necessary chores that allow us to live better? Yet, do we treat the non-resident workers with respect, with gratitude, with non-discrimination or hostility on race, color, language or cultural difference?

What are we willing to give in exchange for this continued state of pleasant living? One suggestion made by some people is to grant green cards through the assistance of the U.S. Immigration Office. This action would be tantamount to submitting to the designs of the Federal government. The greatest fear with this suggestion is that non-resident workers will receive voting rights which might
