Congratulations Dr. Jack Tenorio!

The Issue: Although Dr. Joaquin (Jack) A.Tenorio has weathered the first hearing over his nomination as Labor and Immigration Secretary at the Senate, it came by standing his ground on professional and personal integrity and dignity.
For many in public office, Dr. Jack Tenorio is an individual with courteous though quiet demeanor, but also has a sense of humor.
Highly educated and technical , he isn’t naturally carved out as a politician, for he is a very methodical and technical professional.
Programs that were once under his purview, especially federally funded programs, have their own sets of laws and regulations that must be followed.
Dr. Tenorio did just that even against the whims of politicians. After all, each program comes with a set of laws and regulations. No one is authorized to doctor it for political convenience.
Understandably, most politicians are prone to subscribe to expediency even at the expense of violating federal or local statutes. Not so for a highly respected Dr. Tenorio who understands that in the end he will be held responsible if federal laws are violated by accommodating whimsical political whining.
We are very proud of Dr. Tenorio’s original decision to forego confirmation in order to protect his professional and personal integrity and dignity. He’s definitely a model of honor, a dedicated and faithful public servant beyond reproach.
Continuing students of government ought to learn more about a quiet gentleman who follows the letter of the law governing local and federal programs. He’s so far the one person to emulate as a leader who quietly leads by example.
We thank you Dr. Tenorio for upholding honor, integrity and dignity over bending to whimsical political pressure just to acquire a post. You’re a model of honor, integrity and dignity. Congratulations!
